    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall a great place to work. Have gained a large amount of knowledge and learnt skills that will help me through my career and degree. You are treated like a real employee, but at the same time get all the training and support you need as a new student.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The people at PepsiCo really make you feel welcome! I have made a lot of friends in the year I have spent there.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Great mentor scheme - plus loads of help from your team and previous students. Regular one-to-one sessions with manager to ensure that the work you are given is suitable and what you want to do.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Once you are used to the environment it can be very busy. This is probably one of the downsides to the placement. On the other hand it teaches you valuable time management and organisation skills that are key in life.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots of responsibility given. Treated like a real employee.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Defiantly learnt a lot of skills that will take me through the rest of my career. Going back into my final year of Uni, having learnt more than the first 2 years combined!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was never quiet. People are always talking and having a laugh and a joke, but at the same time getting on with stuff. The atmosphere was very relaxed, which was nice.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement scheme was excellent and was one of the first of the companies of my applications to get back to me. You get inducted slowly through a number of sessions.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They offer to pay for any certification exams that you may want to take. There was no training courses provided for Students, however.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have had my contract extended and hope to do one day a week with them in my final year of Uni.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The student organised a few nights out and lunches. This did die down after a while as we settled into the placement.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area is fairly close to London and so the prices reflect that a little. Overall things aren't too bad. It depends on where you go!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As I stayed in the same place as where I was for Uni I already knew the night life of the town.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of sport and social clubs as well as nights out.

    5/5
