    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I worked on various tax projects helping with IPO steps papers and tax fact books for divestitures. I called HMRC requesting information on clients forms and was able to sit in on client meetings

  • I have developed my tax knowledge and also various analysis skills. I gained experience on various IT packages and was able to build my network

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was able to attend client talks with PwC directors and some of the clients on the calls were CFOs which was fantastic experience. In the tasks I was given I felt I was given a good level of responsibility although my basic tax knowledge did restrict the jobs I could do

  • I received great support from my buddy, career coach and various people on the team that I was working with. Senior people were very willing to take the time to talk to you if you made the effort to reach out to them

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very friendly culture and managed to form strong relationships with other interns despite the internship being online. Unfortunately, I couldn't get involved with any clubs or socials due to Covid

  • Take your time to thoroughly research the company. The website is great for this and look at the range of opportunities as one will probably be interesting to you
