Completely depends on the stage of the year, this could be shelf stacking in stores. Contacting suppliers who are dropping off at the RDC or could be having a performance management conversation. No one day is the same.
Thoroughly developed my management skills, which not many placements give you the opportunity to do with such limited experience
Full responsibility in everything that you do. Your name is attached to every piece of work but there is also the flexibility to approach tasks from every angle.
This was the area in which the placement lacked the most. I never received an updated training plan and on a regular basis did not know when I was even working until the night before. There was support from my mentor daily for anything emotional if I needed it. But there was a lack of personnel development support (this may be by nature but at times think more information or guidance could have been relayed regarding future events or basic details).
The company seem to be changing there culture at the moment in the Region I was in with there still being some archaic rules and traditions, however there was definitely a change and I felt more valued and involved(Which some IP's have not felt in the past).
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement and the opportunities that I was given have been so rewarding. I hope to receive an offer back, but if I do not I have definitely not wasted my time and have developed myself so much. I honestly feel like I have had a positive impact upon the company.
Yes
You have to have drive and commitment but don't be afraid and enjoy everything you experience, don't shy away from any of it!
