Overview
Spent two weeks with a department at the firm. Conducted a range of tasks to support the team and gain an insight into the kind of tasks lawyers conduct on a day-to-day basis.
Skills
Developed a range of skills throughout the scheme - communication, team work, organisation, time management.
Business Insight
I attended several talks with graduate recruitment and solicitors from other departments - this gave me a strong insight into the roles available in the firm and how the firm operates as a business.
Culture
Fantastic culture - very inclusive and welcoming. It is evident that there is a lot of support available to juniors at the firm to help them progress and develop their skill sets.
Your Impressions
I loved my vacation scheme at Clyde & Co. It was a brilliant opportunity to confirm that not only is this a career I would like to pursue, but this a firm I would like to work at.
Yes
Be yourself. Understand the role of a solicitor. Reach out to people on LinkedIn for advice. Think about how the firm operates as a business. Think about what makes the firm unique. Think about why clients would choose Clyde and Co over another firm. Think about who the firm's competitors would be. Reflect on what skills you have learnt from your work experience (does not have to be legal). How will these skills be useful in a legal setting?
