    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I work as part of two global IT teams that support local markets with customer collaboration and providing an excellent user experience. I am responsible for: - scheduling and leading meetings with stakeholders - ensuring all documentation is kept updated - project managing phases during agile development - developing communications - publishing communications across multiple channels - managing budgets - tracking finances and costs

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I am much more confident now when presenting and communicating with senior stakeholders. I have also developed my soft skills and have learnt how to handle difficult situations and manage expectations. My organisational skills have been sharpened especially as I have had to work all year virtually and therefore have to be really organised and efficient in order to meet deadlines.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement and ended up working across many teams because I was very enthusiastic and keen to make the most of my placement year.

  • As part of my programme, I had support from a contact manager as well as a line manager which really helped me settle into my role. The guidance I received from both was exceptional.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Incredibly welcoming! I have never met any of my team face to face but I have built very strong relationships because the culture is very friendly and inclusive.
