Overview
Conducting trials, for example transit tests, drop tests. Researching new materials and technologies. Developing new concept.
Skills
Developing "working world" skills, e.g. collaborating in meetings, discussions, project planning. Practiced active and passive listening, project management skills, commercial awareness. Was trained on several pieces of equipment.
Responsibilities
Yes, had to conduct trials which later on effected the direction projects would go. I was able to lead my on individual project and take charge on the process and development of my ideas.
Support & Guidance
I was given the opportunity to be trained on several pieces of equipment. I had weekly 1-1 sessions with my managers which helped track my progress and identify areas of development and opportunities. There was also a mentor scheme where we had the chance to be paired up with an associate from a different team or category and get tips from a different point of view.
Culture
Very friendly and welcoming. A lot of people follow the company's 5 values which make it a good work place.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement and I had many opportunities even with the pandemic throughout my whole placement. I have learnt a lot and I have been given an insight into what I can do in the future.
