Overview
The experience was a two day session that offered insights into the British education system, helped understand planning and delivering lessons and also offered networking events and talks about charities that Teach First work with. It provided me with a variety of experience and allowed me to develop my competencies that are paramount to Teach First. Sessions varied from debates, to problem solving, to teaching and to networking.
Skills
I have greatly improved my problem solving and virtual communication skills. Due to the nature of the experience, I was able to better my communication with others on a virtual platform (Zoom) and worked with them to form intellectual debates and come up with solutions to problems in schools today.
Business Insight
It was very useful to have better insights into Teach First as a charity and as a business. I felt that I got a comprehensive understanding of how they function and what roles would be available to me.
Culture
Very open and friendly, all seemed kind and polite.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the variety of sessions available and the structure the two days took. A drawback would be just that staring at a screen all day became uncomfortable.
Yes
Just go for it, you don't have a lot to loose out on. A very insightful experience.
