The vacation scheme involved working within a chosen department (you submit your preferences prior to the week) and assisting with work whilst attending various webinars, workshops, networking sessions, Q&As, 1:1 virtual coffees and socials.
I have learnt more corporate law centred law skills such as how to draft board minutes, I have also developed my networking skills and IT proficiency.
We received very detailed and immersive workshops and webinars about all aspects of the firm from Fintech to Responsible Business. These sessions were engaging and well presented and we had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and schedule 1:1s with other individuals.
It was great, everyone was very welcoming despite being so busy with their own work and it was very easy to reach out to people to get help. The company was clearly very proud of their culture and put it at the forefront of everything, most of the employees also said they had moved to that firm because of how collegiate the culture was.
I enjoyed it very much, I loved meeting everyone and going into the office. I really enjoyed having insightful workshops on the firm's work and culture, and the socials were also super fun.
Yes
Be genuine and yourself, especially in the interview. Academics and common sense are obviously important, but at the end of the day, what sets you apart from the crowd will be whether they get along with you well or not. Culture is super important at this firm. Also be as enthusiastic and willing to learn as possible.
