    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is support for my sales team which works for the EMEA Hewlett Packard Enterprise account. My general day to day involves supporting the team where I can to lighten their load, this could be completing some analysis for them or mainly approving their activities as they come into our tool. Generally I approve activities, complete data analysis, merchandising and help with large events.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Strongly developed excel skills and acquired power bi skills. Developed being independent - especially being virtual you have to be self sufficient and try and work things out for yourself a bit more. Learnt several new tools. Developed presenting skills and also learnt how to present data in a dashboard.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Gradually given responsibility as and when I was ready for it. Which meant by half way through my internship I was organizing Intel's participation in a large scale EMEA event. I am also responsible for our team's merchandise budget and approving activities for the team. I would say I was given the same amount of responsibility as a full time employee would be given.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • When I started my intership my previous intern wasn't the best at training me but this is luck of the draw who trains you. The company offers frequent training throughout the year, we have sales training every thursday and full training days once a quarter. There's lots of optional training you can also get involved with.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Company culture is completely about the employee, making sure you are always happy and well support throughout their role. I feel appreciated by the company and never feel like I am an intern.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed it and felt like I have learnt so much in my 14 months. There are lots of interns which makes it a great community to be part of and my team have been so friendly to me.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Intel Corporation
  • Make sure you know about the company before you apply as they really take pride in what they do. Try and boost additional skills like excel as these will be useful in any job you do and will help you out. Mostly be yourself, managers want to know that they will get on with the person they hire and they will be a good fit in the team so show your personality.
