Supporting the HR Central Team with the Inbox and phone line whilst working alongside the HR Business Partners on a range of projects. Further involves supporting the Compensation and Benefits and Wellbeing team whilst actively engaging in promoting Diversity and Inclusion across the company.
The experience of being virtual was challenging however I picked up the new skill of virtual communication, specifically presenting on platforms such as Zoom, adjusting to the technologies associated with this. I also continued to develop organisation skills, time management and building virtual relationships.
I was provided with an increasingly large amount of responsibility on my placement. This included running Induction for new employees on my own and running my own Wellbeing initiatives.
I had numerous support networks that I could utilise throughout the year, This included my Manager, my Mentor, the Intern program manager, the Intern cohort themselves and also my Team. I always felt like I could turn to any of them if I was struggling with something.
The company culture was very people orientated, with a number of events, initiatives and programs ran in order to keep everyone motivated. This involved quizzes, a Friday evening Virtual Pub, walking Zoom calls and also a Bake Off competition.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and all the challenges and projects it brought about. My team were amazing and I really enjoyed working for Oracle as a company with its people orientated culture. It exceeded my expectations and I would love to come back.

Make sure to do your research on the company and what it does and the role too. The main piece of advice would be to be organised with applying and make sure you come across as yourself!
