    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working within the Global tools & storage business, more specifically i worked within the training team. The team’s purpose: providing training to help educate users and retailers about the products. Personally, I was responsible for the planning, designing, creating, publishing and maintaining the online training courses. Through the knowledge of products and design i was able to transform product specs into thorough training courses. Predominantly working within the Articulate 360 platform, Adobe Suite and Camtasia.

  • Skills improved: Photoshop, Powerpoint & Excel, Presentation of ideas, working within a team locally, nationally and internationally Skills learned: Time management across a variety of projects, remote working, critical thinking, planning/creating and publishing and Camtasia

  • A huge amount of responsibility is given to the interns, you're expected to keep organized and work to deadlines. You will play a vital role in the creation of the training material.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Having worked from home, lots of zoom calls were made during the induction period to help train me. Throughout the job, zoom calls were made daily with the team mostly to discuss work but to also catch up.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The globally recognized company has a culture for success, there are quarterly meetings where the CEO shares updates and progress of the company, this helps to make you feel involved in the general company. Within a team goals are set and the teams works to achieve these goals.

  • Obviously, it was a shame to not go into office, however Stanley Black&Decker have done everything they can to make this experience enjoyable. throughout my placement i have had a high level of enjoyment.
