    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to navigate large organisations and how to weave diversity and inclusion into actions and conversations. I have also developed my communication skills both verbally and written. I also have more confidence in my abilities and have more certainty in my actions and m work. I have also learnt more about my creative skills and challenged myself to tap into them.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes- I had a small team so I had a lot of responsibility with regards to the callibre of jobs I was undertaking. I was also trusted to communicate with senior employees within the organisation. I have taken on many of my own projects with minimal oversight and have also taken control of organising a number of virtual events.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • People I have worked with are always willing to help and also have a passion for diversity and inclusion. Due to the large nature of the company it can feel slightly isolate from time to time. Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and will be sad to leave. I think it was the right balance of being introduced to the world of work but I now feel more assured in my career opportunities and what i do/don't want from future roles. It also makes me proud to know I have created lasting work and has also made me more engaged for returning to University.

  • Be your true self- there are such a range of people at Oracle and they want to get to know you. Make your interests known because Oracle has something for everyone. Research extensively via a range of platforms e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn and Oracle's own news portal. They do lots of work so the more you understand the scope that Oracle has, the more you will be able to align it with your interests
