Role Description

Building effective relationships with the Commercial function and the Academy team. Creating and updating reports on business relevant matters. Keeping up to date with predictions and pipelines for relevant commercial departments. Analysing reports relevant to the commercial sector. Resourcing contractors. Providing figures and taking minutes in Departmental, UK and EMEA wide meetings. Organising events for trainees to keep them up to date with business matters. Liaising with both consultants and the sales department to ensure clear communication is maintained and consultants are placed.

  • I've improved greatly on my excel and professional skills through training but also due to the daily tasks of my role. Having to liaise with the sales team and other internal departments has also improved my communication skills and organisation skills when working towards getting projects completed.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes I was given responsibility as soon as I settled into placement and was able to work on meaningful projects that would be used however, some weeks would be quieter than others in which I'd have to proactively ask for a project to work on but there's always something to get involved in and projects do vary.

  • My team is always available whenever I need support and we'd have weekly check-ins to track progress of tasks or voice any concerns or struggles we were having.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Have really enjoyed my placement at FDM, my team has been great and I've felt supported throughout my placement. I've been able to work on various different projects that varied from my daily tasks as a commercial analyst which has kept my work interesting. There is always something to get involved in and have definitely improved on my existing skills and gained new technical skills and knowledge.

  • The interview and assessment centre process is rather relaxed compared to other companies, just be yourself and be honest. People at FDM are happy to help so don't feel like you need to know everything and ask any questions you may have.
