    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • • On-boarding new trainees which includes: - Ensuring that Log-ins are sent in a timely manner - Weekly presentation to on-board trainees to the various systems within the organization - Troubleshooting and providing first line IT Support to the trainees. • Creating and distributing weekly meeting minutes. • General administrative tasks to support the training cycle including documentation management. • Monitor trainee attendance • Processing of bursary expense claims (if office attendance for training) • Schedule and host regular engagement sessions with the trainees. • Managing the London Academy Inbox resolving day to day issues, signposting and escalating issues when appropriate. • Act as a first point of contact by other functions in the organization • Managing stocks of Academy assets (laptops, lockers, passes and stationary) (if office attendance for training) • Invigilating external exams ad-hoc (if office attendance for training ) • Other ad-hoc duties and projects as required

  • Enhanced my communication, organzational and time management skills. Helped develp a refined people management skill. Got to learn alot more about the Tech/IT industry and how that fits in with a sales driven business.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • A lot of trainees join the company each week to undergo professional training preparing them for the corporate world - my responsibility was to ensure their journey was smooth and to ensure they were engaged throughout their time at the company. Alongside assisting on day to day tasks and adhoc requests

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a great deal of support from my team, and they have been helpful throughout my journey at FDM despite the circumstances under which we had to be on boarded remotely and work from home the first few months.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Although the placement was virtual I was able to develop relationships with members of staff with had been a great opportunity for me throughout my placements. I defintiely enjoyed communicating with the trainee's as well and understanding their different cursumstance whilst they come to join the training.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to FDM Group
  • Do apply to the company, the staff is welcoming and is wanting the best for you to further better your self during your placement year. I have been able to up skill in various different areas such as SQL and Project Management, which I would not have been able to do so if I was not on placement at FDM Group.
