    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • To assist members of the team in any way possible, mainly concerning: - Analysing properties rateable values in context of their comparable hereditaments and rents, in order to formulate a concise review of any given property. - In doing this I can determine if there is scope for a reduction in tone and if there is whether it is financially viable for the Savills Rating team to challenge this. - As part of these reviews I also look at any MCC opportunities as well as wider rates mitigation strategies such as intermittent occupation and splitting hereditaments to gain reliefs for clients. - Putting together CCA documents on the back of these reviews. - Carrying out FOR's

  • I have been able to grow my knowledge significantly, though applying my university theory to real work and also learning the process and knowledge required to carry out my role effectively.

  • Yes. Once I had proved I was competent, I was quickly trusted with more responsibility by way of dealing with higher value projects.

  • Plenty of support from all aspects of the business. HR are fantastic in ensuring we are enjoying the job and answered questions quickly. The training to ensure we are able to carry out the job is fantastic as provided though organised events with speakers. My team also provided me with guidance throughout.

  • Friendly and inclusive all round. Although there are many teams in the firm, people are chatty and willing to help from across departments.

  • Despite Covid 19, I was able to feel part of the team and firm as a whole. I have learnt a lot and been able to apply knowledge and gain vast amounts of experience to set me up for a career in the industry.

  • Know that the firm will ensure you are trained up and understand the day-to-day role. Therefore, throughout the application process, it is more important to show general market understanding and interest in Real Estate as well as proving a willingness to learn.
