    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • This programme offers you the opportunity to gain valuable experience during your studies and a way to differentiate yourself during the application process. You develop your prior legal knowledge through Forage and you take part in real life situations. It is very flexible so you can take part in the virtual internship at your own pace. You are given tasks and model answers after you submit your work so you can see where you can improve.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • You get a better understanding of the legal world. In addition, if you don't have a finance or economics background it is a great way to understand these topics at beginner level. You learn more about how a global law firm operates and you can also pre enroll to exclusive events. You will have the option to develop your presentation skills and your leadership skills as some tasks require you to hold presentation towards clients

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • The programme was very much focused on enhancing your skills. The potential roles were stated at the firm however they were not showcased to a higher level. If you are interested in the potential roles at the firm, then I would suggest looking at the different sectors the firm provides by doing some independent research. I got a good understanding of how the firm operates and the sort of day to day tasks lawyers may undertake

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • It was very interactive and friendly. The model work provided was a really nice way of understanding how people at the firm would use the values of the firm in their work to improve the quality. As this was virtual and not physical it was hard to get a good idea of the general atmosphere. The experience would of been better if we were able to have live conversations with the lawyers however it was still helpful

  • I enjoyed the experience a lot it was really informative and helpful. It offers a lot of skill development exercises and is not too complex to understand the tasks. It offers recordings, explaining each tasks as well as documents with the instructions. At the end of the programme I felt as though I grew in confidence and understood more about the legal world. • If you are looking to apply to White and Case it would be good to independently research the firm so their work goes with the idea of where you want to work. I would say to focus on making your application the best it could possibly be by doing as more experience as you can especially long term and start building a relationship with the firm as early as possible so they are aware that you are interested.
