    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Over the few days we heard from many employees, both new and old, about their BP journeys and life at BP. There were also opportunities to network with recent graduates and learn more about the application process. At the end of the week we had to present our weeks findings in a group presentation.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During the week, two external speakers came to speak with us. One taught us about self confidence and how to carry ourselves. We learnt about the art of public speaking and being our true selves. The other inspired us with her story to trust the process and to keep going. We learnt how to cope with the difficulties life throws at you.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • We were not confined to just the role we were assigned to. We were able to learn about a range of sectors from business to engineering. We also were able to dive deeper into our specific areas of choice and learn more about the specific roles in that sector and how this area works with others.

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • They were very warm and welcoming. We were encouraged to speak up and engage with others. It was nice to have the balance between having serious conversations about serious world issues to finishing with a fun quiz at the end. • Yes

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to bp
  • Apply early so you have time to prepare for the interview. There are many tests you take so make sure you do them in time as only given a few days for them. The interviews involved you filming yourself answering questions so no person will actually be there. Make sure you dress appropriately for both the interview and the insight day.
