  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is within the Planning and Engineering department and my work is within the Network Capacity Planning team. My role involves accessing and planning the current capacity within a platform in our network for business customer connections.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed a variety of technical and transferable skills in this role. I have thrived in my communication, time management and organisational skills. In particular I have learned how to use a variety of new platforms and software. My Excel skills have significantly improved whilst in this role.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • After I had been trained in my relevant position and been provided with technical knowledge I was given independence to take on responsibilities. I am pleased with the level of responsibilities and trust I have been given in my role and I am always given the freedom to take on more.

  • I was given a week of initial training with 6 week of further technical training. I have been given constant support on a daily basis and work closely with colleagues with the majority of the work I do.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is extremely friendly, inviting and focused on diversity. Although I have spent all of my time in this role working from home, there is always a positive atmosphere in the company.
