Overview
We were given presentations from the different business areas of: Multi-Asset, Equity Research and Fixed Income. Each day focussed on a different one and then we had to do a group presentation on a case study of each. We networked with business representatives and graduates to hear about their roles. The early careers team did presentation on the roles available and routes into them. There were also talks on company culture and CSR.
Skills
Communication skills - working in teams with people you had never met before virtually. Adaptability - each presentation task was different so having to learn new things and being able to research and present on them developed this skill. Research and Analysis - similarly having to research and find information from a variety of sources and analyse the useful parts
Business Insight
It was insightful. Each company is structured differently and has a different recruitment process so it was useful to hear first hand how it works at Fidelity.
Culture
Experience was virtual so hard to gauge company culture. However all employees from our sessions were friendly and keen to answer questions. From the talks about company life it seems inclusive and takes factors such as family life and mental health into account.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Learned lots of new things and met lots of great people. It definitely improved my industry knowledge and helped me decide what I want to do in the future.
