    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • All the staff were extremely friendly and approachable. A relaxed 2 day experience. Made some new friends at different universities too!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Colleagues listened to my opinions (eg other students from other universities in the group work activities). Likewise the members of staff at JP Morgan, treated you like a professional adult.

  • Any question I had (sometimes even odd/random questions) were answered - and added to my knowledge of Business and Operations at JP Morgan

  • Regular breaks including lunch and breakfast.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • In the group exercise was given responsibility. Other tasks given responsibilty e.g having to present an answer at the end of an activity in front of everyone else.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The assessment centre activity which we did in groups, was an invaluable experience as it allowed us to 'get a feel' of what would be expected in an actual assessment centre. The advice/tips - e.g CV format - very useful for future application to the company.

  • Exciting - constant inflow of information.

  • Very well organised - we were given an agenda of the day aswell.

  • Plenty of advice on future application to the 2013 internship.

  • Very appealing! Definately going to apply to the internship next year as I have learn so much about the company and have alot of insider advantageous knowledge.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The nearby hotel was great, other students also stayed there, and we allk met up in the evening for dinner, and in the morning for breakfast and to walk to the JP Morgan office.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Everything was subsidised by the company!

  • Did not experience the nightlife in the area as it was only a 2 day programme.
