Overview
I spent two weeks at the firm in two different practice areas. The first week within the Disputes team and the second week in the Corporate team. Throughout the vacation scheme I attended a variety of firm presentations, completed work tasks for my supervisor and particpated in the day to day activities that a trainee might do.
Skills
I was able to improve my legal research skills, drafting skills and presenting skills. There was also a significant opportunity to network with people in all positions at the firm.
Business Insight
Presentations were provided across the wide range of practice areas within the firm for a broad understanding. Within the seats more niche understanding of the areas was given including the types of cases being worked on as well as general useful information.
Culture
The culture was amazing throughout, there was no bad interaction with anyone at any level within the firm. Each new group made you feel instantly welcome and included in discussions at all levels. Everyone was open and approachable and time-permitting happy to have a virtual coffee with you.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight experience. The ability to learn more about the firm, the practice areas and a career in law was really beneficial. The experience has provided more information around the areas of law of interest to me and a better understanding of what a training contract may look like.
