    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • During our 2 day scheme, we participated in many activities that facilitated our understanding of the work, people, and ethos of HSF. From networking with trainees and partners, to completing a dynamic negotiations exercise, we developed the skills that are fundamental for trainee solicitors. Moreover, there were plenty of socialising activities (such as a fun chocolate making workshop!) that allowed all of the participants to collaborate and network with each other.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my insights into what is expected and required of a trainee solicitor. From developing my negotiation skills to learning how to communicate with key personnel, my skills have definitely been enhanced by attending the HSF First Year Scheme. I have also learnt much more about FinTech and the use of legal AI in allowing law firms like HSF to provide the best client service possible in the most efficient manner.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • The graduate recruitment team and speakers all made it very easy to understand what is required in the role of a HSF solicitor, particularly what is expected of a trainee. Through an in depth trainee networking session, I developed my understanding of the daily structure of a trainee's working day, as well as how they utilise their skills in their work.
