An insight into Hebert Smith Freehills and the work that they do.

    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The scheme involved talks from Partners, Senior Associates, Associates and Trainees about the work done by Herbert Smith Freehills, both in terms of recent deals (case studies), pro bono and innovation within the tech sphere. There were opportunities for networking through a trainee session and a careers fair. There was also an interactive ADR workshop where we could meet fellow attendees (virtually) and a chocolate-making social. Finally, there was an application skills workshop.

  • The ADR workshop helped to develop my skills in negotiating. Aside from this, the Workshop was more focused on developing our knowledge of the firm, rather than skills.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • The talks were very informative and the information given (for example in the case studies) was recent and relevant. The speakers answered questions fully and all of them were very friendly and welcoming. After the event, I have definitely become even more keen to apply for further roles with the firm in the future.
