    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • 2 day virtual scheme consisting of various talks on the firm, the application process, pro bono and disputes and corporate case studies; workshops on ADR and technical skills; networking with trainees and employees from different practice areas; and a chocolate making social activity.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The ADR workshop and chocolate making activity helped develop leadership and teamwork, while the scheme as a whole increased my knowledge of the firm and commercial law. The case studies on a corporate case and a disputes case helped me expand my commercial awareness too.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was incredibly interesting. Every talk/workshop contributed to this but the practice area fair enabled me to learn more about specific practice areas, while the training networking gave me an insight into the life of a trainee. Furthermore, the case studies helped me understand the work HSF does on a deeper level.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I loved the culture and atmosphere. The employees were open to answering any questions, and were all very honest regarding the firm and requirements within commercial law. The chocolate making activity was a fun social activity while we could network with trainees and other attendees. Furthermore, the ADR workshop enabled groups of attendees to work as a team which helped with networking.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed scheme. It was a packed two days but I feel that every piece of information given or task completed will hugely benefit me in my future career. It gave me a good insight into the firm, and helped me differentiate it from other firms of a similar size and reputation.
