    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at Lloyds TSB prior to Lloyds TSB merging with HBOS to become Lloyds Banking Group. (The RateMyPlacement Team) I really enjoyed my placement, LTSB were great at noticing my own ambitions and gave me a great deal of responsibility to ensure that I challenged myself to the the full.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a great deal of guidance and support, i had weekly 1:1's with my line manager who offered me a great deal of coaching. I was also mentored by a proposition manager in weekly sessions who gave me a great understanding of my own strengths and development and guidance on how i could improve my marketing skills.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the start of my placement my workload was small, however as i got into the job and gained a clear understanding of my role i was very busy and this is the way i like to work. During my placment i wanted to challenge my skills at managing different tasks and expectations from different people and my year at LTSB allowed me to do this

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was very impressed with the amount of responsibility LTSB bestowed on me, at the start of my year i had to prove my abilities but once these were noticed i was given the responsibiliy for developing a new proposition for one of our 3 key market segments to take to market.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills i have developed will help me in my final year as i will be able to apply marketing theory to real life working situations which i have been involved in and this will make it easier for me to understand in an academic situation. However, i feel the commercial skills i have developed on placement will be most benefical in securing the job i would like after university.
