Overview
Day 1: - introduction to markets - opportunities to network and connect with current analysts and associates Overall, a very insightful session where I was able to gain a deep insight into the world of markets. Day 2: - presentation on the $GME short squeeze - trading simulation - networking session with current senior employees
Skills
- able to improve my innovative thinking skills through the presentation activity - able to improve my analytical and critical thinking skills through the trading simulation as I had to respond to global news accordingly
Business Insight
Extremely insightful: having spoken to a number of employees I wasn't aware of all of the possible job roles within the sales & trading division. I felt more motivated to apply as I felt that there was definitely a role at J.P. Morgan that would suit me.
Culture
- Extremely professional - Friendly: I never felt nervous when speaking to employees, especially senior members. They were all very approachable and conversational
Your Impressions
The insight was extremely enjoyable and has now definitely sparked my interest for the Summer Internship.
Yes
My top tip would definitely be to not shy away from asking questions. J.P. Morgan really enforced that 'no question is a silly question' which made me feel comfortable asking questions on topics that I wasn't confident with.
