    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role involves writing articles, constructing and sending newsletter-style emails, planning activities for employees, researching new ways of boosting morale whilst working remotely, liaising with internal and external teams to acquire products or create employee engagement strategies, assisting the executive office with any tasks that need doing, reaching out to fellow interns to gather news stories for the upcoming weeks, and updating/maintaining our company intranet site.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have definitely learnt new skills, such as the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, Wordpress, Outlook, and various other software. I have also been able to develop my existing skills of copy writing and project planning. I have also been able to develop my skill of working to a deadline and communicating effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the business.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given lots of support and guidance from my manager, the intern who handed over to me, various other team members, and the learning and development team. I always felt able to reach out and ask for help/guidance from people all across the business as everyone was so friendly and helpful.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture was fantastic - you could tell that everyone working there was really passionate about the entertainment industry and the work we are doing. There was a really strong community culture despite working remotely with various quizzes and networking opportunities. There was also a large focus on mental health and looking after yourself which made the atmosphere less stressful.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and I cannot recommend the experience enough. It has made me excited for the future if work and I've enjoyed my time so much so that I hope I can come back and work for WarnerMedia in the future.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Warner Bros. Discovery
  • Familiarize yourself with the content and the company history. Having a genuine interest and passion for the entertainment industry will really help. Also, just be yourself, as cliche as it sounds! Don't be afraid to be honest and let your personality shine through.
