The Role
It was extremely enjoyable, especially as I was basically given a task to work on and then could work from my home.
Very rarely had to see colleagues, most of the time I worked from home.
Any problems I had, I just phoned the office or emailed one of their technical advisors who would either tell me what to do or tell me to come in if it was particularly tricky.
Alot of work, most days I would work on projects 9-12, 1-6 then possibly 1 or 2 hours in the evening.
They expected me to be extremely responsible as they would give me an aspect to work on then I would be expected to work on it for a couple of days ready to return to the office by a specified deadline.
Didnt learn too much about software design, but I became much more independent and better organised.
The Company
They would provide good feedback on anything that wasnt quite upto scratch, and whenever possible they would invite me into the office to sit in with some of the testers.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Very attractive company to work for, or at least some kind of flexible software design, or maybe freelancing.
