    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enterprise is a really good company to do your placement if you’re looking to get experience in loads of different areas. I got to experience marketing, sales, customer service and many other aspects of running a business, and I was given responsibility on day one of my placement.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Teamwork culture is really strong at Enterprise, everyone is working together to achieve the same goal. There’s so many opportunities to take part in activities outside of work as well, like team and area days and nights out!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone at Enterprise starts at the same place, so everyone had taken part in the same process I was going through. I was never afraid to ask for any help, and the team are always looking to push and develop you in order for you to be promoted.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were really busy, but at Enterprise you get out what you put in. Some days can be challenging, but Enterprise always reward their employees that work hard.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given responsibility from day one, ensuring myself and the team were hitting all their targets. By the end of my 5th month I was running and managing the branch on my own. I was also promoted to managing assistant by the end of my placement year, so there’s so much opportunity for independence and development.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was able to learn about various parts of running a business as well as important life skills such as teamwork, organisation and other soft skills. I can take all this with me into my final year of university, but also into my graduate role in the future.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given a training folder to complete within 10 months, which involved learning and understanding all areas of the Enterprise business: marketing, HR, Risk, Finance etc, which made sure we were learning everything we needed to know about running a business. We also had training at head office every 3 months to develop our knowledge and make sure we were on track. Upon completing my folder I was able to be promoted to Managing Assistant after 7 months.

    5/5

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • If you perform well during your placement, you are pretty much guaranteed to be asked to come back after graduation.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had area nights out every 4 or 5 months, and team meals out every one or two months. Almost everyone is a university student or graduate too, so everyone is of similar age, which is great for the atmosphere.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived back home in Lincolnshire during my placement, but Enterprise have branches everywhere, so you can apply to work anywhere you like!

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Enterprise are big supporters of social events like pride month and Children in Need, so there were opportunities to raise money and attend events like these all the time.
