    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight because it was clear that J.P.Morgan tried its best to make the most out of it even though the circumstances forced them to make it digitally. I got a really interesting insight into the different divisions which to me was much more useful than just reading descriptions.I also liked to get to know more about what J.P.Morgan has to offer in term of company culture, groups and mich more. The other info sessions were also quite interesting although a lot of the topics we have already covered at university as it was pretty general in somer parts. I did enjoy it though as it was also designed interactively.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • This is hard to answer as it was online and we did not really got to meet anyone in person or talk to the people. I did feel like they were trying to offer us a good experience regardless. I really appreciated that I got to talk to someone directly via the phone in case I have any more questions. I also appreciated the effort to offer more than just one week of events, but to extent it.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • As mentioned before this is not as easily applicable as normally. Considering the circumstances it was pretty good though. I would have appreciated the opportunity to e.g. talk to people from the different divisions in Breakout rooms or something similar, but I understand that this maybe not be as easily organized as one might think. I did however always had the feeling that I could contact someone if I had any questions and would always get a response quickly.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As mentioned before a lot of the topics covered I have already covered at my university, however I liked to see them directly applicable to real life topics at work. I think the to me the most useful information was about J.P.Morgan directly as it showed me what actually differentiates them from other banks/companies. I also really enjoyed the panels as I think there was a lot of interesting and useful information which I might not be able to directly apply to my studies, but is surely interesting for my future career path.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was fairly well structured, but some of the events which took place after the insight week itself were a little spontaneous. I understand though that this might be due to the fact that they were arranged pretty short term as the circumstances forced the insight to switch up a lot (or better put almost everything). I really appreciated the chance to get more insights and therefore this was not a problem but more like a bonus.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Again this would have been easier to answer if the insight would have taken place in person. I did like though that a lot of participant took the initiative to create WhatsApp groups and LinkedIn groups to get the opportunity to get to know each otters a little bit and ask questions. I really appreciated this as am thrilled to report that the WhatsApp group is still active and a helpful source of anyone has any questions or wants to exchange experiences.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They did invest a significant amount of time. if it would have taken place in person it would have been even more (time wise and also financially as they were ready to pay for all my travel and accommodation expenses). I value this time a lot as I know with as little experience as I had I was not useful for the company, but they still saw something they though was worth investing time in and I appreciate this a lot.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • In this regard the insight helped me a lot. I got to know more about divisions I have not considered before and am glad I did. It also helped me to get to know more about the work and a typical day of an employee in general told from different perspectives as there were several people talking about their experience. I considers this aspect one of the most helpful information given to me during my insight.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped me get to know the company culture a lot as I found out a lot about initiative and the general atmosphere when working at J.P.Morgan. I think this is something that is otherwise really hard to find out as companies obviously want to present themselves in the best way possible online which means most descriptions sound similar, but this gave me the actual opportunity to get direct insight from people working there.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It for sure made me much more interested in a career path in this direction.I would love to get to know more exprience first hand. Before attending I was not completely sure if banking was something I would enjoy doing, but the insight showed me specifically which positions would suit me (in my oppinion) and made me more eager to try and get an internship in this area next year - ideally of course with J.P.Morgan

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I would have however been reimbursed if it would have taken place as planned, including travel expenses (in my case a flight from Germany to London and the train ticket to my accommodation). I would also have been offered an accommodation in London for the week and gotten a subway ticket for the week. As this obviously could not take place there were no other expenses for me meaning nothing I even could have been reimbursed for.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • It was hard as there was no opportunity to directly meet anyone from the firm. I did get into touch with a few other participants but this was organized externally and not by J.P.Morgan. I would have wished for an opportunity to at least meet one employee of the firm e.g. in smaller group in a breakout room or something similar.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • As mentioned before there were none really.

    2/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, I did. As mentioned before I found out a lot about initiatives which I personally found very interesting

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, for sure. if you are even slightly interested in banking I did learn a lot and I think it is a great opportunity also for people who might not be sure if this is the right paths for them. It gives valuable insight into the daily work and the company in general which is otherwise hard to get. I believe that if the insight week will take place in person again this will be even better.
