I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I was skeptical as to how the internship would go with regards to it changed to virtual rather than the traditional face-to-face set up that had been conducted in prior years. Nonetheless, the campus recruitment team done an amazing job with the transition, as I feel like I gained the same skills and taken away the same knowledge (perhaps even more) from the virtual internship than I would have from the in person setting.
I was given plenty of support from my management than I had initially anticipated. I feel like with the managers, senior mentor, project adviser and buddy there was numerous contacts that you could get in touch with if you had any questions or concerns or you just simply wanted to have a chat with. This made me feel more at ease with the tasks and projects that I was presented with on a daily basis.
I was luckily enough to get offered the graduate scheme for the following year, at the end of my internship. The role was a perfect match for myself with the vast array of skills and functions that I want to try and see where I best fit. Therefore, I can say that the future employment prospects within the firm are extremely attractive, particularly due to the rotational nature that the program offers.
I think the internship offered as much social aspect that it could have offered due to the virtual environment. This is something that the firm couldn't have really have done better the social activities that the interns participated in gave us a chance to interact with others on the internship, which was fun!
