  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very much enjoyed the placement, it was very valuable as I learned a lot and the people were very friendly and welcoming.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt highly valued by my colleagues, they made me feel like I was really contributing and making a difference to their work.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The supervisors were particularly helpful and would take the time to teach basic concepts to the interns even if it meant going out of their way. They gave detail instructions of how to complete tasks and were always there to answer any questions we had.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the internship being shortened due to Covid, a large amount of content had to be included in a short time period. Despite being busy, we all learned a lot and enjoyed keeping busy.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the responsibility to complete small tasks which fed into to the bigger picture. It was rewarding as I feel the tasks which I owned were used in actual work.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learned many great skills of time management, corporate etiquette, and the relevant skills to complete the work for that division. They will be very helpful in the years going forward.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although my internship was virtual, there was a very positive atmosphere on the regular calls which took place, making everyone feel included.

  • Everything was planned in advance with trainings and deadlines very well organised.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were many different training sessions, which taught us a lot about the wider financial world and gave us the skills to complete the tasks needed to the best of our ability.

  • Working from home

  • I was very happy to accept the return offer and I am looking forward to start.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • This was difficult due to the internship being virtual due to Coronavirus. Despite this, the internship team put on virtual social events.

  • Working from home

  • Working from home during lockdown
