  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • I found my Spring Week at Rothschild & Co extremely enjoyable, intellectually stimulating and interactive. It certainly was different to what we all expected but the well structured and organised nature of it meant that we were able to get the most out of the experience. I felt well connected with my peers and the grad team.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • As an intern class, we were treated well and felt that Rothschild put in real effort to bond with us despite the virtual setting. There were sessions across the week, such as yoga classes and team quizzes that allowed us all to get to know each other better. The grad team were also consistently in contact with us.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • There were various sessions run by analysts and the grad team that helped us to understand Global Advisory at Rothschild on a deeper level while providing guidance for our team projects. Support was readily available whenever we needed it!

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The spring week definitely developed team building skills, determination and soft skills- all that were utilised in networking events with analysts as well as our team projects at the end of the week.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • The week was very well structured. In fact, we were given the contact details of our team members prior to the beginning of the week which helped us all to know each other earlier on. As for the week itself, Rothschild really utilised every day we were with them to consistently present us with networking opportunities, divisional presentations while allowing us time to work on our team projects. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by how well the schedule for the week worked out.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your virtual experience?
  • The team at Rothschild & Co is absolutely amazing! They ensured that the virtual setting of the spring week did not hamper us from getting to know each other, understand the firm's culture and its people. I am sure this was not easy for the graduate team but they managed to pull it off extremely well and consistently remaining positive throughout the experience!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had an extensive financial training course on the first day which helped us understand how the industry works and was extremely useful for me. The interview workshop was also very insightful for our conversions ahead and for interviews in general.

  • 8. To what extent did the virtual experience help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The networking sessions were especially useful to understand how teams at Rothschild work - people speak highly about the lean teams that exist and the culture of Rothschild and this was certainly evident from the networking sessions we had as well as conversations with the graduate team.

  • 9. How much did the virtual experience help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Learning more about the history of Rothschild through a presentation and the archives was very interesting. This inherently translates in the well established culture within the firm which was evident through the grad team and various networking events.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were many networking events organised throughout the week from the buddy system to group coffee chats with analysts and associates. This was helpful in gaining a deeper insight into the first hand experience of people at Rothschild.

  • Throughout the week, we were able to meet people from various roles. The ice breaker activities helped us all to get to know each other.

  • Rothschild made a conscious effort to invite all the interns to the firm's virtual events during the week - it was clear that they value team activities outside of work!
