About You
It was a great opportunity to learn more about banking, and J.P. Morgan specifically. The online learning sessions allowed for me to realize that Investment Banking was the path that I wanted to take. Given the fact that the insight programme had to be moved online, J.P. Morgan did a wonderful job of still making it as interactive as possible given the circumstances.
The issue with an online insight programme, is that the opportunity to network isn't there to the extent that it is in person. I attempted to reach out to some of the session speakers on LinkedIn, but rarely received any response. While I understand that the programme was difficult for them to set up and manage, I feel like more networking opportunities (with employees of J.P. Morgan) could have been presented.
When I had technical difficulties, I was able to reach out to a support team, and get a rather fast response, which was great. Additionally, in sessions, we could ask questions if we needed clarification, which was another huge bonus, and one that one wouldn't necessarily expect with an online session.
The online sessions with Fitch Learning have really helped me understand the behind the scenes of banking, and what exactly different sectors do. While it hasn't necessarily assisted me in my degree, it most definitely will have an impact on my future career.
The Company
The insight was well strucutred. We knew exactly when each session was, and who we would be hearing from etc.
The atmosphere was great. You can tell that J.P. Morgan place a large emphasis on students, and helping them reach that next step in their career. Having the ability to submit questions also really boosted the "learning environment" feel.
There was a lot of effort put into the Fitch Learning sessions, which helped us participants elevate our knowledge of the industry.
Hearing from senior employees of J.P. Morgan really allowed us to understand how they reached the point they are at now, and how we can set ourselves up for success.
Hearing about the company culture from the different employees was a great opportunity to see how everyday work differs in each sub-sector. We were able to hear a lot about the culture within J.P. Morgan, and understand how we would fit in.
I was able to further my understanding of Investment Banking due to the Fitch Learning Sessions.
Everything Else
I would have had my flight paid, as well as accommodation settled.
We were able to ask questions in the live sessions, but not much beyond that.
It was online, so it was definitely more difficult to network, but we made a LinkedIn group, and spoke there.
We learned a lot about the day to day activities, and what employees can do to "further themselves" outside of the office.
I would definitely recommend it. I learned a lot about J.P. Morgan, as well as the industry as a whole.
