  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • In particular, the opportunity to mean people from all areas of the business was fantastic. The team I ended up in was great and I was always made to feel welcome.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I felt very valued by my manager but this is difficult as I was not working on a project related in any way to the team I was in (due to the virtual nature of the internship in 2020).

    • Management and supervisors were very supportive and extremely generous with their time.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Online training courses were a little much sometimes and led to days that were busier than necessary. Sometimes there were several online courses that seemed to cover the same, or similar material. I often felt like these could be addressed for employees to make better use of their time.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • Due to the last minute nature of the internship being moved online, we were not working on any "real world" projects. Our main project amounted to brainstorming an idea for a non-profit. While fun, and challenging, I'm not sure this is the same as us having responsibilities.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I refined my team working skills and gained valuable skills in seeking out information independently.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The internship was entirely online, while the atmosphere was often good, it was never going to be as good as in-person.

    • Excellent on all accounts. Especially given the circumstances. Very few hiccups.

    • The team spent a lot of time training me.
