    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really incredible team and have been given so much responsibility in such a short period of time. This has meant I've been able to feel like a full time member of the team and actually see the impact of my decisions and efforts. Such friendly team members as well and the culture here is incredible even virtually and working at home, the atmosphere is still present which makes this year even more special.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt so valued, people came to me for opinions and guidance just as I went to them. I have never felt like "an intern", I always felt as though I'd been a team member for so much longer than I had which really boosted my confidence and also just the general experience.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager is INCREDIBLE - genuinely such a good support both professionally and personally, which I am so grateful for. She supports me whenever I need it, and I feel like she genuinely puts my needs and requests as high a priority as her own. Really could not have asked for a better manager.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As with any digital/event based work, there are periods when you are swamped with work and other times where you can relax a bit more. However, this was never unmanageable and everyone is willing to help you get your work done, so I've never felt like any task is too big or that I'm too out of my depth.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I've managed the implementation of a brand new project in EMEA which I never thought I'd be able to do. I was the driver, and whilst this was a lot of responsibility at time it really taught me how to work with a team and get the most out of the people around me, despite only being an intern myself. If I want more responsibility, I just had to ask, so it really is the perfect situation.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Really great skills learnt, both in communicating and project managing. Some skills have been learnt by working from home that may not have been learnt in the office, such as the importance of effective communication in a virtual environment, and I believe going forward, this is really crucial to be able to do.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Wasn't in the office as WFH, but the culture was still obvious and we still had so many events and opportunities to connect with each other outside of just working relationships which was amazing, such as with ERGs and summer and halloween parties, as well as networking events.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From the start we were onboarded seamlessly, and integrated into projects and work with no hassle at all. We always had work to do and were trained enough to make us feel comfortable carrying out tasks and getting involved. Also as the intern cohort was so small, it meant we really got to know each other well and were valued a lot more.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Plenty of training opportunities available always making sure we were reaching our full potential as employees and as individuals

  • Not sure yet, but would happily return after graduation!

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Quite difficult as WFH, but it was as best as it could be and I feel as though I know my colleagues really well despite never actually meeting some of them!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
