  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I enjoyed my placement to a very large extent, as I was able to build upon my existing knowledge of real estate, from previous experiences as well as gain a newfound understanding for the sector.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I felt very valued by my colleagues, especially because I was able to tune in on their daily meetings. This allowed me to offer my input to the team as well, which I thought was valuable for both parties.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • I received a lot of support from my supervisors. I had a daily meeting with my manager and regular catch up calls with my buddies too, so that I didn't lose my way. I was also able to ask any questions I had and voice any concerns.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Very busy for the most part. I had the right amount of work, that didn't overload me with crippling pressure, however did stretch me to be my best self and put my best ideas forward.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I was given quite a lot of responsibility, as I was directly working on the same project that my team was. In fact, the work that I did during my internship was going to be used as a good starting point to show to investors, in order to help them understand some global investment opportunities.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I developed a wide range of skills e.g. communication, teamwork and time management. I expect these skills to be very valuable beyond the working environment and I fully expect that they'll help me in a way variety of scenarios in the future. After all, they are essential life skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • I didn't go into the office, as this was a virtual internship, so I cannot really say.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • It was very well organised, given the circumstances. The company was especially capable in adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic really well and I'm very grateful for having had the opportunity to work with them over the summer.

    • I had to go through many different mandatory training's as a part of my placement, so I would say that the company invested in me to a large extent.

    • Working from home

    • Very appealing. I would love to work at the organisation in the future, purely because of all the reasons discussed previously.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • The students were quite sociable and I feel we all interacted well and got on well too.

    • It was free, since this was a virtual internship.

    • There was no nightlife, since this was a virtual internship.

    • There were quite a few social events, although they were quite difficult to operate successfully in a virtual setting.
