    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was really enjoyable, I gave 8 stars, because it was not in person. Obviously, it was beyond control. For the future, I would suggest that if you have the opportunity to hold something in person, do it, because students love to experience a different environment from university. Of course, if it's not possible at all, I would say keep the structure like this, because I cannot think of any more interactive ideas than this. Maybe a person in the office could go around and give a life office tour.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I actually felt extremely valued. I felt like future interns (or interns too, I know because I actually interned in J.P. Morgan this summer) are handled as 'precious assets' of the company. I feel like we are indeed J.P. Morgan's investment for the future and it shows how friendly and easy-to-reach everyone is. No matter what the position of someone is, the person is highly likely to be humble and reachable and I think this is a J.P Morgan Specific thing. :)

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone was really supportive and helpful. I have always had problems asking questions regarding coding. Being a woman in the technology industry is really hard, because you have to try 3x harder to be as accepted as men and if I happen to ask a stupid question once it will be remembered more likely than if a man asked that. But in J.P. Morgan this is absolutely not present at all. Everyone just genuinely wanted to help us succeed and it felt so good:)

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It definitely assisted it! Not necessarily because I gained so much more knowledge in those couple of days to become fluent in any programming languages for example, but because it significantly boosted my confidence. I would like to emphasize again that the fact that I could easily ask questions made me really brave and I also realised that so many people feel the same way and not confident enough to ask questions. I am really glad J.P. Morgan made this confidence-boost for me.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was really structured, we did have a lot of programmes. There was a good balance between challenging programmes and fun or just informative sessions, and I really enjoyed it. I did get tired in the end, of course, but I liked it, but it's just because I like to be challenged. I liked the InsideSherpa challenges and secure code warrior tournament as well. I do think it was as interactive as possible in this situation.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was really friendly and despite the fact that we were kind of in the middle of the pandemic's first wave, the staff projected a really warm and happy atmosphere, which I really appreciated! Everyone was really open to talk about anything and I felt like this was a safe space where people want you to succeed. The pandemic melancholy was actually replaced by the good mood and warm atmosphere and I did need that.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel like the company invested in me as much as they could. This Insight 'Week' was not a long programme, but I feel like the support and the intention of us feeling as good as possible was seriously maxed out. I was actually talking about this back then with a fellow student I got to know during the Insight week that we must be an important investment for J.P. Morgan, because you do invest a lot of time and money and trainings and everything for us,

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Actually, as I mentioned above, I was an intern in the summer. The picture I got in the Insight Week was really similar to my experience I gained during the internship, but it is because we used the same programs (for example InsideSherpa and Secure Code Warrior). Obviously the internship was much bigger (and for me better too) experience I got much more insight, but I feel like the information we could get during the insight week was definitely maxed out

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I feel like I can just reiterate my previous thought: as much as it could. It was all online, but the people make the culture, so I feel like it still gave me a good insight. Actually, I can confirm, because after the insight week, I expected my internship to have the same good atmosphere and it was. It was even better, but it's because we all had more time to get to know each other and to work together.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was really helpful. Before the insight day I couldn't imagine what it means to be a software developer, but after that I had a more thorough inside into the industry. It also helped me identify what area of computing I am interested in the most. And it was all backed during my internship as well. I set up meeting with people working in Cyber Security (because I found this area to be the most interesting for me) and I could get an even better insight.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We anyway wouldn't have been paid, so there is nothing to reimburse.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes there were a lot of talks with people from different divisions. There were more networking sessions set up as well. Although networking can be quite awkward online, it still was a warm and nice experience for me.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • I really enjoyed them, I got to know a lot of people even from my course. There are some fellow students who I still keep in touch with

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, I think I did. I am not sure anymore if it was during the internship but the insight, but I have heard of art competitions and also that J.P has a choir too.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • 10/10, absolutely. I does no harm at all, I really cannot think of any reason why I would not want to recommend it to anyone!
