  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I really enjoyed my virtual internship with Rothschild. Induction period with HR and business representative was very insightful. Also, the team in the division I worked in was extremely welcoming and available.

    • I felt very valued by my colleagues and highly involved in the projects I worked for.

    • I received a lot of guidance throughout my internship. I was assigned to a "buddy" which was a junior analyst available for help or recommendations. Also, we were assigned to a mentor which was a more senior banker to give us further guidance and assistance.

    • I was very much involved in the projects I was assigned to. This helped me to develop and learn a lot both professionally and technically.

    • I received a lot of responsibility as I was actively contributing with the team on the project I was assigned to

    • Throughout the internship I learned a lot from a professional, technical and personal perspective. I developed great interpersonal skills which are very useful in a professional setting and the technical skills to be more effective as a banker.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and from the first day I felt part of the team. It was very fast-paced and dynamic yet very stimulating and enriching.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • The internship was very well organised. We first had an induction period to get used to the bank's system and regulations. Then, we kicked off the desk where my team had an associated which was in charge of intern staffing. Thus, the Associate was up to date with workload and projects that I was working on.

    • The bank was very involved in personal training and we received formal training session at the beginning of the internship.

    • Future employment prospects with the firm are very appealing. This is further highlighted by rigorous training and involvement we receive during our internship.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Yes, the team organising every week social meeting online to get to know the team in a more informal setting. Although the internship was conducted virtually, I felt part of the team.
