The Role
Very enjoyable place to work, everyone who works there is very willing to help, and I got the opportunity to do lots of interesting work, and gain a lot of valuable software knowledge. Aside from this there is a healthy social aspect outside of the office, as there were regular badminton sessions, as well as go karting evenings.
I always felt highly valued by those around me.
All of my managers/ supervisors were very helpful and supportive, expending lots of time to help and teach me what I needed to know to get my projects done.
Most of the time there was a good work balance, and I was always busy with stuff to get on with.
I was given significant amount of responsibility, often working on or helping with important projects with strict deadlines.
The skills and knowledge I acquired on this placement will assist me for not just my studies, but almost any future engineering career endeavour.
The Company
No issues whatsoever with the office environment. There was always a very relaxed feel to work, with banter amongst everyone who worked there.
There was a very good organisation to the work placement. From day one I had a clear structure to what I needed to learn, and what I was to begin working on. This carried on throughout the placement, with regular 1on1's with my mentor helping me to organise my learning, whilst there was always a steady stream of work to be got on with.
There was a high level of investment and emphasis on training and skilling up whilst I worked there.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
A future of working there is a very appealing prospect.
The Culture
Living in the local city, which was Northampton, was pretty cheap.
Not a great club scene in comparison to other cities.
