Considering the times, the summer scheme was enjoyable. A good mix of meeting people around the business of varying seniority and getting involved with some real life projects, as well as a visit to a site.
Everyone I had any contact with was very friendly and I am amazed at how willing people at Savills were to help out, give advice and impart knowledge about the surveying industry. Very good culture for a corporate firm, very inclusive and everyone seemed to be good friends. A director sat down with me towards the end of the scheme and we had about a 2 hour conversation- very willing to aid and unusual for someone so senior to give up so much of their time.
My answer to the 'to what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company?' covers this- lot's of support and guidance, far more than expected.
Firstly, this short experience has given me great insight in to the world of advisories and how they operate, exposing me to lots of different areas of real estate (agency, investment, fund managers etc). Great to get an understanding of how the theoretical aspects of my degree will apply to the workplace.
The Summer Scheme was well structured, I was put into a team and got to meet a lot of the members in real life. Not too many zoom calls and a lot of time to really find out what every does on a day-to-day basis.
I think I have touched on this in other answers, the atmosphere was great, a bit of a buzz going round the office at times, a rare thing to happen considering less than 50% in the office.
