    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Although my internship was meant to be for 4 weeks, due to Covid-19 it was reduced to only a weeks time. Despite this, I enjoyed my time and have learnt much in my short time here by taking part in site visits, helping out the office with tasks and getting involved in research etc.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • For the short time I was here, and despite the staff being extremely busy (and with rotations as some members would work home some days to adhere to social distancing and reduce numbers in the office), I was thoroughly reassured the staff are here to help me and offered me much advice on my career plan. They made sure to use every opportunity they got to get me involved in some work with them. They were very easy going and were not intimidating whatsoever. By the end of the week, I felt like I had been here for many weeks with how much I felt integrated. Savills have amazing staff members and a very warm work culture.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I was given much guidance and support from advice on my career plans, opportunities that are available, experiences being shared etc. Most importantly, I was given guidance on site by being involved by my manager with clients. After a viewing for example, he would run over key information that was delivered and what to keep in mind. As I was in the nottingham office, the team was quite small and therefore easy to talk to, with the team members from the same department being in the same office made support and guidance not only accessible but plentiful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Mainly due to the shortened length, I will not benefit greatly in my degree and my studies with this however it will serve as a starting point in my career.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight for what it was in the pandemic environment was well structured, with there always being something for me to get done.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was very comfortable with the team as they were very friendly, outgoing and did not make you feel intimidated. Plenty of support and very easy to talk to and open up to made the atmosphere very warm and welcoming. It doesn't feel like you're at work for half the time, however the other half it really does feel like you're at work with the amount of work the staff have where the office is quiet with echoes of keyboard tapping.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They got me involved in as much as they could in the short week I was there. Site visits and meetings were very essential in getting me the feel of the industry atmosphere which is an amazing experience to have to know what skills i must further develop on when i join the corporate world. Although the jobs given to me were repetitive in nature where it didnt lead to any development.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • 5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The zoom meetings with the departmental overviews were very helpful as they gave a detailed insight with someone from each department as to description of the roles. These along with the short experience give you a short insight into what would be best for you personally in the business/industry
