    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • It greatly exceeded my expectations. Everyone I met was so helpful and all the events were engaging and insightful. The work was very enjoyable and I could see how innovative the technology within the firm was whether bespoke or outsourced through my few weeks. Although I would have loved to be in the office and met my team in person I was really happy with the amount I learnt. All in all it was one of my favourite experiences!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Very. My team made me feel as though I was one of them. Everyone was so lovely and helpful! I made friends which I will definitely keep in touch with. HR was so helpful and responsive. My team made my work feel purposeful and valued and answered all of the million questions almost instantly which was amazing and never made me feel like any of my questions were stupid no matter how irrelevant or simple they were.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • I recieved an immense amount of support and guidance from both my team and HR. I got to network with employees across the global team which help me get a greater insight on the team's work. Whenever I was stuck on a question my manager didn't know the answer to my manager always referred me to someone who would be able to help me which was great. I always ended my day feeling content with my work and happy with the amount I'd leant during the day.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am looking forward to returning to the firm upon completing my degree and feel that everything I've learnt would greatly help me with that. I also learnt a lot of valuable technical skills which will aid me in the final year of my degree including git, bash, vim, spring, spring boot, gradle, maven and many more. • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given the opportunity to network and meet members of the global team which was great as I could ask them a range of questions, get their insights on certain issues as well as sell myself. Everyone was so lovely and helpful and always took the time out to talk to me which was honestly amazing. If a person I wanted to talk to was busy they'd always take the time out and reschedule a meeting for another time to ensure that I got the chance to talk to them. Eevryone took time out for me which I honestly loved!

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We recieved a large budget for our at home technology setup including a monitor, a mouse, a keyboard, a headset, a web cam, and a wifi dongle. We were paid the annual analyst salary pro rata and even though the internship was shortened we were still reimbursed for the amount we would've recieved if we had completed the full length of the internship. Overall I was very happy with the level of compensation recieved for the amount of time worked.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes we had insight events and speaker series on the different societies within the firm and also got to talk to people and discuss which societies they were a part of what they thought of them and what they got to do as part of the societies. Overall I learnt a lot although as the experience was virtual and shortened there was limited opportunities to actually get involved and take part in society events within the firm.
