    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The week was very insightful as the name suggests and I've learnt a lot about the Analytics & Sales and the Global Data departments at the firm. The sales sessions were particularly enjoyable and all the presenters were very personable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Bloomberg put a lot of effort into this insight week, despite it taking place virtually. Everyone was very happy to answer questions and support our learning.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The team leads were very hands on and were ready to jump in on a call and help out with the terminal and the project.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A lot of the week was focused on areas only related to the firm itself, but there were sessions that covered separate skills such as sales and the terminal.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The week was very structured with a timetable available in advance. The timetable was adhered to at all times and the hours were predictable. It was also clear who to ask for help/advice.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was very inviting and everyone was extremely friendly. The organisers put a lot of effort into ensuring the atmosphere did not prevent people from asking any questions and reaching out to anyone.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The week involved 4 TLs and 1 HR specialist working on this full-time. There also an upwards of 15 presenters spending their billable hours to come and speak.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The sessions were comprehensive and the Q&As ensured a rather meticulous description of the day-to-day was presented.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The culture was pretty evident from the presenters and the interns who came to speak to us - it was very clear that everyone enjoyed their jobs and shared the firm's value. An 8 only because the session was virtual, so we could not see the office and interact with more people.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content has reinforced my interest in customer service. I would definitely like to have a client interaction component to my future career.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • There were virtually no expenses, so nothing to be reimbursed, as the session was virtual!

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • As the session was virtual, we obviously couldn't talk to just about anyone, but every presenter invited us to talk to them in the Bloomberg instant messaging chat.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Networking with current interns was great, but I would have liked some more time with my own cohort. We had the individual project work time blocks, but people were focused on work, so we couldn't really talk too much. A lunch could be utilised for that, but a nice short break out room session would have been nice just to talk to some people during the day itself.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, the sessions on Bloomberg Philanthropies as well as the team lead Q&As covered a lot of the charity and social event opportunities.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It clearly depends on the friend, but if anyone is interested in a career in finance and customer service - then yes. It's only a week but its jam packed and you do learn a lot.
