    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the first 2 weeks of training. Unfortunately, I believe that 3 weeks on the desk were not enough to fully understand the job and bond with the team members. Further, I did not understand why there is no rotation among teams, especially since the teams are completely different from one another. The level of difficulty of the final project was really different depending on the team. Some of the interns had extremely easy projects, while others extremely difficult ones. Finally, the worst thing happened in our very last week when we were told that the company was not making any offer.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I think that my colleagues did their best to teach me how to do things and support me during the process. However, given the limited time, virtual barrier and communication problems, I feel I did not receive the support I needed during the internship. Virtual communication requires more time and effort, and it is not easy to be supported when your colleagues have no time because they have other things to do. Moreover, I just worked on my personal project, so I didn’t have the chance to really work with them.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I think that my colleagues did their best to support me during the internship. However, as said before, the time was very limited and I had communication problems with them, fostered by the virtual mode. Therefore, I feel I did not receive the support I needed during the internship. Further, my team has just 2 junior members, making even more difficult to ask for support, if they are busy.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was not given any responsibility because I mainly worked on my personal project.

  • The training and the skills I manage to develop for sure will assist me in my future career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to interact on a daily basis with my team members. However, in the weekly calls, the atmosphere of the team was positive and engaging. I wish I could spend more time with them.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was really well organised especially during the training weeks.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of training I think that the company invested a lot, extending the training to 2 weeks. However, in terms of development during the internship on the desk, I feel I did not have the chance to interact and learn from my team.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5
