The Role
The internship was amazing, the work was meaningful and purposeful, colleagues are extremely helpful and approachable and it was very well organized.
Many of the people I've got to meet over the last 6 weeks feel like I've known them for a lot longer, you are able to build a good relationship with everyone very quickly.
My manager was very helpful all the time and very supportive, she guided me in the right direction throughout the project and her experienced showed, I learnt a lot from her.
It was perfectly balanced, some days were very busy but that was largely due to when I organised meetings as I did not mind this. The campus team left plenty of time for you to network and get on with your projects.
It felt like we were given a lot of responsibility, as mentioned above, the work was meaningful and purposeful which makes you feel like you're part of Amex and not just an intern.
Used Python a lot which will help in my degree, as for the rest of the training/skills I developed, I think they will help me in future careers - This is something I would of otherwise not been able to experience so I'm really appreciative of the time I've got to spend learning from Senior Leaders and others within the company.
The Company
I wasn't in the office, but as a virtual environment, it was very friendly and everyone was very approachable and easy to get in touch with.
It was very well organised, given the circumstances, they were swift to let us know it would be online, and they constantly updated us. All campus events were very well organised and useful.
They very much invested in every intern, you can see clearly that they do feel that you could be a very valuable part of the company in the future and so they invest everything they possibly could it to developing and pushing you during the internship, to see your capabilities.
Definitely appealing, I find the work enjoyable and meaningful, I enjoy the culture of American Express and so every box is ticked.
The Culture
Yes, considering it was online, I've been able to bond with many of the other interns and get to know them on a personal level as well.

As much as there could be virtually, pub quizzes, team quizzes and other events that they would have held in the office, so considering the circumstances, very many opportunities.
