    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was very well organised and we got to do alot! But it was very tiring!!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt a bit of an outsider at first as I was from another country, but once you spoke up you were listened to. There were definitely 'alpha' females there though.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The work shadowing was great and very well organised. Was told exactly what the department did. All directions, etc, were very clear. Only one criticism in that the corporate banking game wasn't explained thoroughly enough.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was very busy but I definitely was not bored.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Only opportunity to show responsibility was showing up on time and travelling to the Thames for a boat cruise...it wasn't that kind of placement.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It was brilliant and very useful for my degree. The things I learned will definitely help me in my impending exams!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Work shadowing had a really nice atmosphere there.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised but just a bit too much info to take in sometimes, especially on the first day.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was as much as they could do in 3 days of an internship!

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Was an interview at the end so opportunity is there.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Went for drinks the night before and last night.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite expensive...but it IS canary wharf after all!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Great buzz about the place!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not much but everyone was too tired anyway!

    1/5
