  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyed it despite being virtual in the end. Campus team made a real effort to put in all the events possible, and all worked pretty smoothly

  • There's a great culture at AMEX everyone is supportive and inclusive

  • My line manager was particularly helpful and set up regular meetings to make sure I got the appropriate level of support

  • Fairly busy, not overwhelmed

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot. I had 2 projects running, one was slightly more practical so I could experience the software, the other strategic. A good balance over the 6 weeks

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree is completely different to this internship, but I now have a good idea of what to expect from a marketing career and good content for future interviews

  • Virtually - very positive, friendly even relaxed.

  • Very well organized - easy to navigate meetings through online calendars and scheduling assistant that makes the day run efficiently

  • To a great extent - they seem to value each employee, from intern upwards. The culture at Amex revolves around similar values I hold

  • Very - a lot of room for career progression and movement across business units and across countries. This is encouraging as it means that you don't have to be stuck at any point, there's always a goal to progress to

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes - we organized our own virtual catch ups. Unfortunately in person meet ups were not possible, which is a shame and would really add to the experience

  • No cost - kind of a perk due to virtual circumstances
