  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my time here at MSD Cramlington; I'd definitely come back.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • We have an initiative called "inclusion" on site. This is a tool that helps people get to know each other, address misunderstandings and creats a sense of value within colleagues.

  • I have a personal mentor who has done everything within her power to help me, stretch me and encourage me.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I feel I have had a good level of work. I have several large projects which mean I can work under my own steam, and work to a pace I find suitable.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the oppurtunity to project manage many times.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have been given lots of additional training, which has really helped my degree and looks great on a CV.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office is generally quite friendly, although there wasn't a lot of socialising outside of work. However, while I have been here there have been two all expenses paid company parties, including three course meals and drinks!

  • We have around 6 interns every year, so the placement program is very smoothed out.

  • I was given lots of valuable training and many people put time and effort into helping me progress.

  • MSD currently have a recruitment freeze on.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We met up outside of work occassionally.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Newcastle has a large student scene, so is set up to find low priced accommodation, and good cheap nights out!

  • Best nights out in the country!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are lots of things to do in the local area, but I've found that within work it hasn't been excessively social.
