Investment Banking Summer Analyst Review

The summer internship at Nomura International PLC has been amazing in my opinion. I had the chance to meet many other guys with whom I has the opportunity to speak and share ideas even if virtually. Moreover, the human resources team did a great job in setting everything up in the best way possible. The training we did at the beginning of the summer internship has been super useful and the teaches very helpful. I would recommend doing a summer intersnhip at Nomura!

I had the possibility to work together with many colleagues who gave me the chance to showcase my abilities. Even though the number of weeks we worked at the desked has been shortened relative to previous years' summer internships (due to Covid-19 issues), I had the chance to work a lot on many projects and therefore show my abilities and allow my colleagues to understand my value. Overall, I am very happy to be given the chance to work with them.

Management and supervisors have been super available during the internship period. Indeed, even before we had the chance to join the desks, we have been contacted by our management/supervisors to arrange our presentations and be able to get in touch with our buddies. Moreover, many calls have been arranged during the weeks we were at the desks in order to get real updates and show any concerns we would have. Overall, I am very happy with the support received by supervisors.

I have been extremely busy during the weeks I have worked together with my buddy and other people from my team. However, I am very happy I was busy during these weeks since I had the chance to learn a lot and I also had the opportunity to show my colleagues my abilities. Moreover, I am happy and proud that I had the chance to help them on a daily basis since they were very busy during this period.

I have been given a lot of responsibility. Since day 1 at the desks, I had been allowed to follow different projects and work together directly with my buddy but also other colleagues within the team. All my colleagues have been happy about my performance and I also had the chance to get to know and get along with them very well since the beginning. Overall, I am very happy to be involved deeply since the first day.

I think the skills I developed and the training I received during these weeks will allow me to further improve myself both at university and directly at Nomura, in case I will be offered the chance to continue working for this amazing firm. I would therefore like to deeply thank the Nomura team for setting all this up in the best way possible. A very deep thank to the hr team that has made all this possible.

The general atmosphere at my office was great! I had the chance to talk directly with analysts, associates but also directors. They were all super available during this time period and I am therefore very happy. I was given a lot of tasks to perform during these weeks but I would also like to thank my colleagues since they offered me the opportunity to improve myself and my skills to be applied directly in the workplace.

The overall internship set up was amazing. The hr team did an amazing job in allowing us to work remotely and of course a big thank should go also to the IT team. The internship ran smoothly and also the training we have been offered at the beginning of our summer internship has been particularly useful. We had been given the chance to get to know each other first and then join the desks to help our teams.

The firm invested a lot in us. Even though every investment banking firm has been impacted by the Covid-19 issue, Nomura has ran the summer internship program anyway and we should all be thankful for this. We were also given the chance to develop our skills and abilities during the summer thanks to this program and for this reason I would like to thank everyone deeply. I hope we will have the chance to continue working for this firm.

HRs told us that the firm is currently undergoing a restructuring process but they told us to not worry to much about it since we should hear back towards the beginning of September. I really hope we will be given the chance to continue working for Nomura also during the next years since this organization is great and also the working culture is one of the best. I therefore hope the restructuring process will end up well.

We had the chance to network a lot with our fellow students and colleagues since the human resources team organized many virtual calls in order to give us the chance to get to know each other during these weeks. I am therefore happy to have met many different people and even though getting to know each other directly is totally different than virtually, I am overall happy about the possibility we have been offered to get in touch between each other.

Since the program have been ran all virtually, I had the chance to remain at home during the total length of the internship. However, since the program had been set up greatly by the HRs we had the chance to almost not noticing the virtual environment. However, I hope we will be given the chance to join the teams directly at the offices when the Covid-19 issue will be over, hopefully soon. Overall, a very positive experience.

As I said in my previous answer, I had the chance to remain at home during the summer internship due to the Covid-19 situation and therefore the nightlife was not that interesting where I live. Moreover, due to the Covid-19 situation, we were not able to attend clubs or parties but the HRs did a great job in order to solve this issue and run anyway the program in the best way possible. Overall, I am therefore very happy.

Of course! Even though the program has been ran entirely virtually, we had the chance to network and get to know each other through video calls organized by the HR team. Moreover, during the beginning of the internship we were able to attend the training were we have been able to talk to each other and work all together. Despite the virtual environment, we therefore had the chance to cooperate between each other. I however hope we will be able to return to normal in the near future.
